Hello and Welcome...At Faith Based Counseling Services, LLC, our mission is to provide quality therapeutic services that embody the whole you, mind, body and spirit. We believe that in order to have overall balance and healing, you must be able to tap into all parts of you , which include spiritual connection. Therapeutic services are not provided in the form of preaching, but incorporate your connection with God. We utilize Godly principles to assist in strengthening you in order to enhance your ability to cope, see hope and imagine a better life for yourself.
La'Neika Benbow- Bruinton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (received from Fordham University) and Marriage and Family Therapist (received from the Alliance Graduate Seminary School of Counseling in Nyack). She has been a clinician for over 19 years and is experienced in working with many. This includes work with veteran's, special needs (both children & adults), sufferers of medical issues, family, pre-marital, marital and general couples issues, elderly (dealing with issues of alzheimers), providing strategies for caretaker stress reduction, assisting those with history of trauma and more. She has found through her experiences that providing the opportunities for those whom she serves to incorporate their belief in God into their treatment, provides insight, hope and the additional support needed for change to occur. It is her hope that all will be empowered in a way that will create a healthy well-being affecting each person now and generations to come.
Meet our New Counselor in training Starting January 2024
Ashley DeArcia Cota is our new counselor in training. She is currently pursuing her degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Mount Olive.
She states that her passion for becoming a clinician comes from navigating the highs and lows of life. " I want to make a huge impact and provide genuine support to those I serve. Counseling is not just a career path for me, but a privilege. It's a chance to be part of the journey of others and help them through the ups and downs of life. With a strong sense of purpose and confidence in the strength that God has given me, I'm committed to walking this path."
About the therapists
Talissa Dawson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, mentored and trained by La'Neika. She comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience that follows the mission of our agency. She has over 10 years of experience and works with both children and adults whom struggle to manage their emotions. She also assists with processing of stress and trauma.
"I was drawn to the helping profession through my love for relationships, experiences and a deep desire to understand emotional processes and healing. A wealth of life experience provides me with an ability to understand common patterns which affect most people on their journeys. I aim at working together to assist in developing a plan that will enhance individuals’ quality of life."
